Malaysian MPs on Fact Finding Mission in Berlin and Potsdam

January 2014. A delegation of members of the Malaysian Parliament visited Berlin and Potsdam. They were in invited to Germany in the framework of the “guest programme” of the German Government. The leading theme of the visit was the “Separation of powers and the role of the legislative in a parliamentary democracy”.

The Malaysians MPs had dicussions with members of the German “Bundestag” (Parliament) and the State Parliament of Brandenburg, as well as with representatives of political foundations and federal ministries.

The parliamentary delegation consisted of the following members: YB Hajah Nancy binti Shukri, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law), and YB P. Kamalanathan P. Panchanathan, Deputy Education Minister II. YB Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed and YB Datuk Koh Nai Kwong represented the Barisan Nasional Government coalition and there were three members of the opposition parties: YB Hajah Fuziah bt.Salleh (Vice President of the People’s Justice Party), YB Nasrudin bin Hassan (Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party) and YB Zairil Khir Johari (Democratic Action Party)
