ANAK MUDA CARI JHO LOW

Pakatan Harapan youth launches ‘Finding Jho Low Movement

A GROUP calling themselves Gerakan Anak Muda Cari Jho Low (Finding Jho Low Movement or AMCJL) was launched today.

It will try to help authorities track and arrest businessman Jho Taek Low who is wanted in connection with the 1Malaysia Development  Berhad (1MDB) scandal.

The group’s spokesperson Faiz Fadzil who is also Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) youth deputy chief said the group will work with international human rights organisations and Bersih Global.

“The country is facing an economic, cultural and social crisis. Corruption has becoming widespread.

“The falling ringgit and high cost of living can be linked to 1MDB,” he said in a press conference in Bangsar today.

Because of how 1MDB impacted Malaysia, the movement decided to help the authorities monitor Jho Low’s, who has been spotted in Hong Kong, Thailand and China. His ship was also seen in Acheh, Indonesia.

“He is running away from Royal Malaysian Police and Department of Justice (DoJ) in America. We are going to put his photos on blogs, social media and portals so people will know how he looks like. We hope they will tip us on his whereabouts. We will ask help from Malaysians abroad,” said Faiz.

He said the movement will hold a forum on December 6 titled “Jho Low Dilindungi China Merah?”(Jho Low Being Protected by China?).

The forum will be at Kuala Lumpur Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall and the panellists are Pakatan Harapan chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu, Parti Keadilan Rakyat leader R. Sivarasah and activist Hishamuddin Rais.

Jho Low’ was named in DoJ’s suit for alleged misappropriation of funds linked to 1MDB.

Prosecutors in Singapore have also named him as the central figure in probes linked to 1MDB, adding he used money traceable to the state fund for his own benefit.

In court filings, the prosecutors said Low had received “huge” sums of money.

According to the filings, some US$1 billion (RM4.1 billion) 1MDB purportedly invested in a joint venture with PetroSaudi International Ltd was diverted to a bank account owned by Jho Low.

Jho Low has denied any wrongdoing. – November 30, 2017.
