"In the police force, the promotion process is not something that could be bought or paid for, as it goes through stringent filtering based on procedures. "Rank is awarded by top leadership within the PDRM based on high commitment and dedication shown by each officer and personnel member in carrying out their duties, as well as giving the best service to the people," he said when contacted on Thursday (Oct 13).
He was commenting on allegations by a woman who claimed that a police officer with the rank of Deputy Superintendent had threatened to kill her after she had demanded he return the RM100,000 she had loaned him supposedly to secure the rank of Superintendent.
