REPEAL THE SEDITION ACT - FEDERAL COURT DECISION SHEDS LIGHT
Despite the remarkable decision of the Federal Court, anyone especially lawyers & MPs can always rely upon the statutory defence under Section 3(2)(a) of the Sedition Act, where a remark shall not be deemed to be seditious just because it has a tendency to show that any ruler has been misled or mistaken in any of his measures. The hereditary ruler, who isn't an elected representative, on the facts of the case was the former Lord President of the Supreme Court of Malaysia and Karpal was a lawyer and MP. Based on the apex Court's decision, if questioning the actions & rulings of an illustrious highly qualified former judge being a hereditary ruler is not deemed as seditious, what more questioning the actions & rulings of mere mortals who don't even hold a candle to the former Lord President & then hereditary ruler!
